Dr. Dilip Nikam has been a meritorious and one of the most outstanding student throughout his carrier. He did his graduation (MBBS) from Government Medical College, Miraj and completed his post-graduation (Radiation Oncology) from Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai. He has worked with eminent doctors in Oncology like Dr S. H. Advani (pioneer in Medical Oncology), Dr B. C. Goswami (Director, Govt Superspeciality Oncology Hospital, Guwahati), Dr Sharmila Agarwal, Dr Boman Dabhar, Dr Mehboob Basade, Dr Raman Deshpande, Dr Mehul Bhansali. Additionally, he has also worked under the guidance of Padmashree Dr T.P. Lahane at Grant Medical College, Mumbai.
He touches the lives of more than 25000 cancer patients per year and delivers radiation therapy with advanced techniques to more than 500 new patients. Fortunately. more than 2000 patients takes chemotherapy under his care per year.
He updates himself with ever changing guidelines of cancer treatment by participating in international, national conferences and CMEs as speaker, chairperson and delegates.
He is involved in scientific research notably, one with collaboration with BARC and developed new treatment protocol for painful skeletal metastasis. Also , he has diagnosed very rare clinical disease Birt-Hogg-Dubey syndrome and also treated it successfully with guidance from European expert.
Dr Nikam is MCI recognized post graduate guide/ teachers for MD Radiotherapy by Maharashtra University of Health sciences, Nashik. As per MCI guidelines, per year two postgraduate students can be registered for MD courses under his guidance.
